Rising star DrexTheJoint (@drexthejoint) has kicked off the year with a bang. The 19-year-old Mexican rapper from Santa Ana dropped his highly anticipated project, The One Who Did, on January 10, and it’s already racked up an impressive 1.2 million streams across platforms. Featuring collaborations with Heembeezy, Rowdy Racks, and Mike Sherm, the 15-track EP showcases DrexTheJoint’s West Coast vibes, authentic storytelling, and unique ability to stand out.
Growing up in Santa Ana deeply influenced DrexTheJoint’s music. “Everything I rap about in my lyrics is everything I’ve been through, seen, or lived in the city I come from,” he shares. “All that has shaped my sound and who I am as an artist.”
DrexTheJoint first turned heads with his viral hit “Bounce Out,” amassing over 7 million streams. “Honestly, that was one of those songs I wasn’t even going to drop,” he admits. “But in the studio, I just started talking my s–t.”
Now, DrexTheJoint is pushing boundaries while staying true to his roots. “I want fans to feel that West Coast sound when they hear me,” he says.
With The One Who Did, DrexTheJoint proves he’s not just another rising artist—he’s here to stay. And the momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In March, he’s set to make his debut at Rolling Loud California, marking a major milestone in his career as he takes the stage at one of hip-hop’s biggest festivals.
With The One Who Did, DrexTheJoint solidifies his position as one of the most exciting young voices in hip-hop.
