Mykko Montana is no stranger to reinvention.
The Southside Atlanta native first stormed the scene in 2012 with his breakout single “Do It” featuring K Camp—a track that became an instant dance floor staple and earned him a spot among the city’s rising rap stars. Now, over a decade later and still averaging over 118,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Mykko is proving that his story is far from over.
His latest release, “Brian Pumper,” is a rowdy, confident track that fuses party-ready energy with the same raw, unfiltered style fans have come to expect from him.
“It took me under 45 minutes to record this record,” Mykko says. “In and out, no writing. I really rap about my life in 3D, in my everyday living, and I love what I rap about. I put it in my art of music.”
Built on a bouncy beat and laced with the kind of brash, in-your-face lyricism that only a vet like Mykko can deliver, “Brian Pumper” showcases his evolution as an artist. It’s a continuation of the creative streak that brought fans full-length projects like Rich Chocolate (2018), No Stylist (2021), No Stylist (Deluxe) (2021), and Double M (2024), a project that’s already made waves across airwaves.
When asked about his favorite bar on the track, he doesn’t hesitate. “Send my girl to Rumors so she can shake haass and titties, yeahhhhh,” he says with a laugh. “It’s just a true story, lol.”
But while the bars bring the energy, the release represents something deeper for Mykko. “It means a lot because it’s part of my new craft of how I create my music,” he shares. “I actually enjoyed creating this record.”
The title “Brian Pumper” is unexpected, cheeky and unique—something Mykko says was deliberate. “It was fun, catchy, and actually exciting to see me create and come up with these unique titles,” he explains.
Despite the playful tone, there was no particular artist or genre that inspired him while recording. “Not at all. But shoutout to my dawg Alex Huncho,” Mykko says.
The beat itself came from an international collaboration. “He from overseas. I work hand to hand with him,” he says of the producer. “Great producer. He know how to create my sound.”
And what’s next for the “Brian Pumper” concept? Mykko is clear. “Continue to release more heat.”
As for the rest of 2025, he’s keeping plans close to the chest—but don’t confuse that with inactivity. With a loyal fanbase, a sound that continues to sharpen with each release, and an independent team he proudly rides with, Mykko Montana is still in motion.
“All glory be to God. Fly or Crash, shoutout to my team,” he says. “I offer a lot past music. I’m a renaissance man. It’s all independent. Got a tight team I work close with. I’m thankful for them all.”
